We’re hiring an experienced Tooling Engineer with a strong background in tool design and troubleshooting plastic injection molds. We will also consider any individual with 5+ years in designing plastic injection tooling.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sustain production tooling and drive preventative maintenance activities.
  • Drive production tooling repairs, revisions, and budget.
  • Aids in developing quotes for new tooling, revisions, and repairs.
  • Support & sustain our tool storage process.
  • Update and maintain customer tooling audits (quarterly).
  • Responsible for storing CAD files, customer prints, and related documents.
  • Drive new tooling through the entire development phase.
  • While mold design is not the primary responsibility, we do want this individual to be able to perform this task. Being able to assist with light mold designs and help push through tooling revisions will be a critical function of this role.

 

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • 2 year Associates degree, trade school preferred with an emphasis on mold making or equivalent work experience.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and readily adapts to changes necessary to support the business.
  • Keen awareness of and background in plastic injection molding.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Competent written, verbal, and presentation skills; Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Creo (Pro Engineer) preferred, however candidates with SolidWorks experience will also be considered.
  • Understanding of scientific molding & validation processes is a plus (DOE, IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • A current relationship with other tool shops is considered a plus; must have the ability to build relationships with vendors and tool shops.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs unaided.
