Product Spotlight: Motorola XE Remote Speaker Microphone

The XE Remote Speaker Microphone is a safety device for fire fighters. It features a strobe light that activates when the emergency button is pressed; casting light up to 10 feet in thick smoke.

The XE RSM is the first accessory from Motorola that has dual microphones to eliminate interfering background noise.  MME group built the front and rear housing sub-assembly and shipped it to contract manufacturers that build the entire emergency radio. Motorola’s schedule for this program was 3-4 weeks. We completed it in 2.7 weeks and made additional improvements; recommended and developed fixtures for regulator seal requirements, provided design insights enabling over molded style features to be molded as one piece, and collaborated with Motorola to develop the design integrating the main seal into existing industrial design.
